Demand for Coronavirus Treatment Drugs Has Increased Due to the Increasing Cases of COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Coronavirus treatment drugs are used to treat an infectious disease (COVID-19) caused by the novel coronavirus. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), worldwide, as of 5:54pm CEST, 27 July 2021, there have been 194,608,040 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 4,170,155 deaths. Thus, there is an increasing demand for coronavirus treatment drugs across the globe. Drug delivery devices or system are the tools used to deliver the drug through the specific route of administration.

Drugs targeting coronavirus necessitates the identification of a suitable delivery system, and thus, there is an increasing demand for COVID-19 drug delivery devices worldwide. COVID-19 affects different people in different ways. Most infected people develop mild to moderate illness and recover without hospitalization, while others require hospitalization. There are various drug classes available in the market, such as monoclonal antibodies, anti-viral, corticosteroids, and Kinase inhibitors than can be used to treat the virus. However, the treatment of the virus is usually depends on the severity of the disease or severity of symptoms such as severe, moderate and mild. The virus can damage the lungs, heart, and brain, which increases the risk of long-term health problems.
