In-vehicle Emergency Calling System Market is expanding rapidly as Anritsu, in collaboration with Svyaz-sertificat and BI.Zone, launched test solution of in-vehicle system (IVS) for Russian emergency call system

In-vehicle Emergency Reporting System (EVERS) is a wireless device that allows emergency dispatchers to communicate with the control room on the vehicle. If the vehicle is inoperable, they can immediately dispatch assistance to assist in safe mode communication. This is important when traveling on unfamiliar roads or in hazardous weather conditions. The system is used for emergencies that occur outside the car as well as inside the car. The adoption of an in-vehicle emergency calling system has increased over the years since consumers are increasingly demanding such systems. These types of emergency systems are comprised of automated voice responses. The voice response would be delivered to an emergency service provider, enabling a response for the deployment of airbags in vehicles. Recently, in December 2019, Bosch launched its eCall solution in India with eCall service being available 24/7 and 365 days per year. Such factors can stimulate growth of the in-vehicle emergency calling system market.

Governments of many countries have started implementing stringent rules and regulations regarding the safety of vehicle drivers and passengers. In fact, some countries have started imposed strict policies to install in-vehicle emergency calling stations across all passenger and commercial vehicles to enhance the security of the passengers and drivers. Thus, such factors can augment growth of the in-vehicle emergency calling system market.

Developed countries in Europe such as Germany and the U.K. have shown a promising sign in regard to the adoption of an in-vehicle emergency calling system. This is due to government regulations including European Commission in Europe. Besides, there is an emerging trend of joint ventures between automakers and emergency servicer providing organizations, which can accelerate growth of the regional in-vehicle emergency calling system market.

The basic function of this emergency calling system is to call 911 in case of a vehicle stranded on the road along with an injured person inside the vehicle. The call will then be transferred to the local dispatching agency. The vehicle will be towed to a facility for further treatment if necessary. In the meantime, anyone inside the vehicle can make use of the PDA or cell phone to contact law enforcement agencies for additional information. The system is also compatible with the latest hands-free kits to make it even more convenient. Regardless of how advantageous and beneficial this system is, its adoption has been low in emerging economies. This is typically due to the fact that there is no robust infrastructure available to deploy such types of systems in vehicles. Besides, the low availability of emergency service providers in these countries can limit growth of the in-vehicle emergency calling system market.
