Vehicle Electrification is the future of Automobile and is getting better every year with new technologies and products


Vehicle electrification is a broad topic that encompasses several different aspects of vehicle electrification. It can cover cars with electric means of propulsion, like an electric vehicle, and also electricity playing a very important part in the performance of a vehicle. Volts vary widely among different applications, though most vehicles use some form of electricity. Electrification in a car is the transformation of a gasoline-powered engine to one that uses electricity. In the past few years, there has been a tremendous increase in the use of vehicles with an electric engine, with many new vehicle applications having an electric engine or powertrain. While there has been a lot of talk about what electric vehicle benefits are currently available and what future vehicle benefits might be based on the technological breakthroughs in vehicle electrification, it is important to understand the basic challenges that will be present in the long-term future.

While the majority of vehicle applications are now taking advantage of electrification and the use of electric vehicles, there are some specific applications where the benefits may be less than appreciated. For instance, some research is underway for what is termed as a 'hybrid-electric' vehicle which uses both gasoline and an electric engine. Although hybrids do have a number of benefits, it is not clear to many drivers that the benefits can be as great as they may think. Hybrid vehicle advantages are more limited than many people might expect, and the benefits of an electric vehicle (EV) are still much larger than the benefits of a hybrid vehicle.

It is also important to understand that in order for any vehicle to run on electric energy it will require new fuel cell technologies that will allow for the conversion of the combustion byproducts of the combustion engine into electricity, which can then be used to power the vehicle. Furthermore, the power of the vehicles will need to be able to meet the same demands as any standard vehicle. If there is one thing that is certain about vehicle electrification and the future use of alternative fuel is that there are no guarantees. For example, the new fuel cell technologies that could eventually be developed could be very expensive and therefore the majority of vehicles would still need to rely on the use of fossil fuels to get them to work.

There are some major challenges that are likely to be present in future vehicle applications, such as, the need for multiple applications, and the need for charging stations, and the ability to store energy for the vehicle, which could be more expensive to install than an individual powertrain. The amount of electric vehicle applications is expected to increase in the coming years, but whether the vehicle will be able to accommodate all the different options will be unknown until the technology and economics of the entire system are studied and evaluated. As vehicle electrification use becomes more commonplace, the number of vehicles on the road will need to be controlled and this will mean that the number of cars being driven each day will need to be reduced. It is important to ensure that the existing car fleet can support the increasing demand for electric vehicles.
