Another typical anesthesia machine is the mechanical ventilation machine. A mechanical ventilation system is used when the anesthetic agents have reached the lungs. The patient will be placed in the abdominal area and the chest will be held up by tubes. The tubes will remove the excess air from the lungs, permitting the agents in the gas mixture to enter the lungs. This type of anesthesia equipment is used in medical situations when there is not enough room in the operating room or if it is very difficult to move the patient without making too much noise.
